The game
An open world built around not telling you where to go. Every distant ruin is a promise; every fight can become a wall you walk around. Online play is quiet by design: messages, ghosts and summons rather than a lobby.
The rhythm
An hour is a dungeon or a boss attempt. An evening is a region. It punishes impatience and rewards leaving a fight to come back stronger, which makes short sessions surprisingly useful.

What you pay for
The base game is a complete purchase. The expansion is large, priced like a game in its own right and worth it if you finished the base; it is not a season pass and nothing is sold inside the game.
What it asks of you
Tolerance for failure. Bosses will beat you repeatedly and the game will not soften. It asks you to explore instead of grinding, and it rewards that more than any other action game we have bought.
The strengths
- Exploration that actually teaches you
- Difficulty you can route around, not just endure
- One expansion, no drip-feed
The trade-offs
- Opaque quests without a guide
- Performance on PC has never been perfect
A path you earn.
