The game
A run-based action game where death is the story. Each attempt at the underworld and the surface is thirty to forty minutes, and the writing between runs is the reason you go again. Bigger than the first game in every direction.
The rhythm
A run is a session. Twenty minutes gives you a partial attempt with progress banked; an evening is three or four runs and a lot of new dialogue. It is the best short-session game on this list.

What you pay for
One payment, everything. No shop, no cosmetics, no passes. Early access buyers got the full game for the early price, which is how early access is supposed to work.
What it asks of you
Persistence and a taste for builds. You will lose more than you win for a while, and the pleasure is in learning why. Controller strongly recommended.
The strengths
- Perfect thirty-minute loop
- Writing that makes losing worthwhile
- Nothing sold after the purchase
The trade-offs
